I fell in love with Ra Ra Riot after hearing their original Lounge Act. They are such a joyful band with a kinetic energy that passes from member to member to audience and back. The pattern of their shows is that they often meet or surpass the headlining band, picking up new fans with each performance. (The follwing is copied from my earlier post in Randomville) We were at the Friday show in Providence, RI. Since it was all ages, I took my 16 year old daughter, her boyfriend and my 13 year old son to the show. This will now be a bittersweet memory. The crowd was pretty sparse and we spent alot of time talking with the band. In fact, John was the first person to welcome us when we came in. We talked about their upcoming Woxy appearance and tour dates. John was particularly enthused about going back to England and Scotland. This is such a damn shame. John was personable, smart and talented. I feel fortunate to have met him. Thank you Woxy!
