The Futurist Theory 8 Giveaway!
Got another great giveaway today for you here on The Futurist. Today we have some goodies to give away from our friends at Theory 8 Records in Nashville. The label’s artists will be invading our local area this weekend, Friday night at the Southgate House in Newport. On the bill for Friday night….

I won’t be able to make the show, but any chance I can get the hand-picked CDs only?
WOXY introduced me to Forget Cassettes a while ago, and I’ve dug them ever since. I have both their previous Lounge Acts on my iPod shuffle, plus some misc. mp3s that I’ve found, but I haven’t had a chance to pick up one of their albums.

I’m not that familiar YET with any of these bands but Forget Cassettes, so I guess they’re my favorite. However, I’m visiting Cincinnati this weekend and plan to check out the show. I hope to develop new favorites, and tickets and CDs would certainly help sweeten the deal (and give me the excuse I need to leave a family function early to catch the show!).

I can’t make the show, but there is no way that I’m going to let this post go by without declaring my love for all things The Whole Fantastic World. Someday they will release a new album and it will be awesome and someday they will finally make it to NYC and it will be awesome.
I do like Forget Cassettes and De Novo Dahl a whole lot too.

Theory 8 puts out some great stuff. All the bands listed are regulars on my playlists. I have yet to check out a forget cassettes show, much to my dismay, and much to the chiding of JK, who has seen them nearly every time they’ve been in town. I think it’s time to fix that.
And a big thanks to WOXY for making my work day bearable.

I really dig Apollo Up! as they were my introductory band to Theory 8. I picked up Forget Cassettes off of eMusic.com and that Nicholas track is always a surprise.

Go ahead and sign me up,Forget Cassettes is def fav, but I seen De Novo Dahl at elbos over a year ago with Forget Cassettes, and I have to give props, I was impressed.Beth will always have my heart though.Hey do ya think Barb will be there? Keep up the great work WOXY!

Thanks woxy.com for introducing me to some sweet bands, and Theory 8 for making it all possible! I have loved De Novo Dahl, Forget Cassettes (not to mention Apollo Up!) since I first heard them here, and have seen Forget Cassettes three times so far. Can’t wait to see them again!

Apollo Up! would definitely be my favorite at the moment as well. Maybe tonight could change my mind. Sad they aren’t on the bill. “Walking the Plank” really gets my heart beating and blood flowing. I shot a video of it when they were at the Poison Room a while back. Nice guys to boot.
