Freshly signed to Engine Room Recordings, this Brooklyn band have earned some solid airplay here at WOXY on the strength of their “BQEP” release.

We caught up with the guys while on a brief midwestern tour. They played several tunes from the EP and also debuted a brand new track called “Falling Makes You Blue.”

We’ve all had favorite bands who were not able to successfully replicate their sound in a live setting. That is definitely not the case here. Led by Jason Rabinowitz, this is a tight session that highlights a talented group of musicians who we look forward to hearing more from in the future.

They’re hoping to start work on a full-length album this summer, but in the meantime you can get to know The Bloodsugars now with this excellent Lounge Act performance.

Last Monday, we brought you a doubleheader of lounge acts featuring The Diggs and Butterfly Assassins. Well, another Monday is here, and another double dip in the lounge is about to ensue. First up today, we are happy to welcome Thao & The Get Down Stay Down who released a great record earlier this year, We Brave Bee Stings & All. The session is scheduled to go off at around 1pm ET.

A bit later this afternoon, stick around for a return performance from our friends Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, who dropped their excellent sophomore album on us all this year, Pershing. The band is due in for a 4pm session with us and it will cap off a busy day in studio.
