We have a great giveaway to announce this week here on The Futurist. Wilco will be in the Cincinnati area next weekend for a show at the Aronoff Theatre and we have 4 tickets to give away to you! We will be giving away two sets of two tickets. The show is June 14th at 7:30pm. These are really nice seats as well, here is where they are located.

Every day here on the Futurist this week, I will be sliding a different Wilco lyric into each one of my posts, to qualify, just mark down the lyric each day, and at the end of the week, email me with all of the lyrics. I will be taking down the days lyric each evening so you must visit that day. We will announce two winners next Monday here on The Futurist.

I remember seeing Headlights for the first time, it was right after the bears NFC championship in Dekalb and my brother called me and forced me to buy at least one drink for the band. I was completey hammered and covered in snow by the time I reached the house cafe and only had a vauge idea what the Headlights sounded like, but i thought im drunk and the bears won, so nothing can bring me down. I didnt expect the Headlights to kick so much ass and be such nice people.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know these fantastic people through the music scene in Champaign, IL. I’ve seen them around 15 times, and they are constantly improving and growing as musicians and genuinely down-to-earth people!

Headlights have made 2 stops to the WOXY.COM Lounge in the past year. They even got to share a pretty special day with us as their second performance at the station was on the day that we relaunched our broadcast thanks to lala.com!
This trio from Champaign, IL are pretty much ALWAYS out on the road and are currently out doing shows with Page France. They’ve got a brand new 7-song EP that is only available at live shows and through Polyvinyl’s website. The disc is called “Keep Your Friends and Loves Close. Keep the City You Call Home Closer.”
The EP features 3 performances from their WOXY.COM Lounge Act sessions including “Lions”, “Tokyo” and “Put Us Back Together Right.”
