We wrapped up our last episode of Local Lixx last thursday for 2007, which you can download by heading to our Local Lixx page, but that does not mean we don’t want to continue to bring some great local music your way. After having The Lions Rampant in last week for a lounge session, this week we will be welcoming three more local bands into the lounge.

Today at 4pm Eat Sugar will be in for their first session, while tomorrow at 4, Cincinnati’s Buffalo Killers are coming back in for their second appearance in the Lounge. And then on Friday, we welcome Pomegranates at 4 for their first Lounge Act.

So tune in for what promises to be three great local lounge acts, and it is certainly not just for locals either, as Eat Sugar has already received overseas attention for their music, Buffalo Killers are just coming off a big tour with The Black Crowes, and Pomegranates have recently signed to Lujo Records to release their debut full length in the new year.

A great episode of Local Lixx tonight as I welcome City Beat Music Editor Mike Breen into our studio. Mike has been the Music Editor for City Beat for a long time and his passion and admiration for local music here in the city is unmatched. Mike also joined the blogosphere this year and can be found over at Spill It.

The show airs tonight at 8:30pm on WOXY.com and will probably be longer than the 30 minutes previous episodes have been as Mike and I will be chatting about the bands he chooses as well and a little about the Cincinnati music scene.

If you were not aware, we have been running a fun local music program on Thursday nights at WOXY.com. 09/27 - Episode #1

Local Lixx is back on WOXY.com. I’m happy to be re-starting a Cincinnati tradition here at WOXY.com with my first episode of Local Lixx. I think we got off to a great start with this episode too. We kicked things off with The Great Depression, a band out of Cincinnati that has recently signed to Curb Appeal Records and is out on the road with Rocky Votolato. We also touched on some new young talent here in Cincinnati with music from The Read and All The Day Holiday.

And we turned over a new leaf in some ways as well, branching out to both Columbus and Louisville for some great independent music. So enjoy episode 1 of Local Lixx and get ready for lots more to come!
