It is always nice to get news that a band we really enjoy is doing new things. Of course, Jukebox The Ghost fall into the category, they played a great lounge act session for us in January of this year. The band released their debut full length earlier this year, Let Live & Let Ghosts and they are out this summer on tour to support it. Several of the dates are alongside another WOXY.com lounge alum, Via Audio. The dates come to an end when the band plays on the WOXY.com stage at the Monolith Festival in September.
In addition to the tour dates, which are listed at the end of the post, Jukebox The Ghost also have not only a new remix of their great song, “Hold It In” to share here today, but also the video for the song. Download the remix below and watch the video as well.

We have had a little bit of a lag in new episodes of Friends Of The Futurist, but return tonight with a brand new installment. Our show tonight features Frank Yang of Chromewaves. I have been a big fan of Chromewaves for years, and it was one of the first music blogs I read on a regular basis (and still do).
This episode takes us to Toronto, Canada, where Frank is based and was alot of fun to put together. You will hear music from Lightspeed Champion, DeVotchka, Sons & Daughters and more tonight on our first international episode of Friends Of The Futurist.
So check it out tonight at 8pm ET on WOXY.com!
In the meantime, visit Frank at Chromewaves and get a taste for what you can expect from the show tonight….
Like many of you, it was DeVotchKa’s 2004 album How It Ends that first introduced us to the band, but they have actually been together since 2000.
After music from that release was featured in the Oscar-nominated film Little Miss Sunshine the rest of the world caught up with their unique sound as well. Earlier this year, the band released their first album for the ANTI- label called A Mad & Faithful Telling.
Their visit to the Lounge came during a very active touring schedule and the band were a little road-weary. While they performed four tracks during the original session, they were ultimately unhappy with their performance and have decided not to make the full set available in the podcast.
What we do have for you to download is the live performance of “Undone” from the new album.
Xtrabeats returns this weekend, kicking off a batch of new episodes. Join me Friday night from 8-10p and Saturday from 10p-Midnight (all times eastern) for two hours filled with the best new electronic music and remixes of some of your WOXY favorites.
This weekend I’ve got a DJ mix on tap from BEN WATT (of Everything But The Girl). Ben’s dance label, Buzzin’ Fly, is celebrating its 5th Anniversary and we’ll pay homage to the label with a great hour-long set. Keep an eye out for a new 3-disc unmixed compilation to celebrate the label’s birthday later this month called “Buzzin’ Fly: 5 Golden Years In The Wilderness.”
You’ll also hear some great tracks in the mix from LADYTRON, THE TING TINGS, RILO KILEY, KANYE WEST, and PANDA BEAR so be sure to join me this weekend for an all-new edition of Xtrabeats here on WOXY!

Despite the wretched title I just made for this post, it has been way too long since I dropped some free, legal mp3’s in your lap. All of these songs have been recently featured on our new music hour, Nothing But New, which is every Tuesday and Thursday 6pm ET.
A very special edition of Local Lixx this week, as we take a look back at one of the most influential Cincinnati Garage Rock bands. The Customs were pioneers in the late 70’s here in Cincinnati, leaving their mark for a great line of other garage rockers here in the Tri-State. So listen in as we hear songs from The Customs’ great album, just re-issued on its 30th anniversary, Real Long Gone. In addition you will hear music from bands that have followed in their footsteps……
Just in case you missed Artrocker last Wednesday, and the encore presentation this weekend, we have you covered. Listen below to the full 90 minute episode that showcases what is new and interesting across the pond in London. WOXY.com is the exclusive US broadcaster of Artrocker radio, with a new episode every Wednesday night at 6pm ET.
They’ve spent a lot of time this Spring back out on the road and they’re testing some new material. While they originally planned on releasing an EP, the songs kept flowing and they soon found themselves with enough tracks for a new album.
We can expect the, as of yet untitled, third full-length from Winterpills this September. In the meantime, you can preview 2 of their new tracks in this session along with a few cuts from The Light Divides.
