What is a podcast?
Think of a podcast as an audio subscription. With the help of a podcast receiver application, you can subscribe to feeds that interest you and when new programming is available, it's automatically downloaded to your computer for listening whenever you like. Some podcasting programs can even load the audio program onto your iPod automatically for on-the-go listening.
How do I listen?
First off, you'll need a program capable of receiving podcasts, such as iTunes. Check
out the listing to the right. Next, you'll need to subscribe to one of our podcasts.
Some programs can automatically find podcast feed links while others
need to have feeds entered manually. Check the documentation of your podcast
receiver program for more info. The feed links are the red RSS Podcast icon(s) at the
top of this page.
In iTunes, click on the Advanced menu and select "Subscribe to podcast..."
In the URL field, type in woxy.com/podcast_mrm.xml for the Modern Rock Minute podcast,
woxy.com/podcast_unsigned.xml for the Unsigned@WOXY.com podcast or
woxy.com/podcast_loungeacts.xml for the Lounge Acts podcast.
Can you podcast your regular broadcast?
Due to copyright and music licensing restrictions, we are unable to podcast any of our music programming at this time. Behind the scenes, podcasting is technically downloading, and we all know how the RIAA feels about unauthorized downloading...
